Motorola India Hints to a Potential New Phone Launch—the Moto G64 5G—and Leaks Important Details About Its Design
It appears that Motorola is planning to produce a second smartphone in the Moto G line, after the Moto G04 and Moto G04s. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer hinted at the release of the new device on Tuesday, April 9, on social media without disclosing its name or scheduled release date. It’s been speculated that the future phone will be the Moto G64. It might replace the Moto G54 5G, which was introduced to the Indian market last year. In the meantime, claimed renders of the Moto G64 have been leaked online by a tipster. Furthermore, the phone with minimal specs surfaced on the benchmarking website Geekbench.
Motorola revealed that a new smartphone was coming to the nation with a teaser post on X. The hashtag #UnleashTheBeast and the caption “Brace yourself for the ultimate performer and limitless entertainment” are featured on the post. With many of the features from the Moto G54 5G from the previous year, it is widely expected that the Moto G64 5G will launch shortly, even if the company has not officially confirmed the name.
A leaker named Evan Blass (@evleaks) has purportedly leaked pictures of the Moto G64 5G in green and blue hues. Its edges are somewhat curved and feature a hole punch display style. The pictures appear to show a dual back camera unit with 50 megapixels and optical image stabilization.
Furthermore, the Geekbench website now features the Moto G64 5G. The listing displays 2,458 points in multi-core CPU tests and 1,026 points in single-core tests. The device may come with Android 14 and 12GB of RAM, according to the listing.
The Moto G64 5G is also listed as having an octa-core processor with a maximum clock speed of 2.50GHz. The MediaTek Dimensity 7025 SoC is thought to be this chipset.
In September of last year, the Moto G54 5G was introduced in India, with a starting price of Rs. 15,999. The price of the handset was reduced by up to Rs. 3,000 by the manufacturer earlier this year. Running on a MediaTek Dimensity 7020 SoC, it features a 6.5-inch full-HD+ display with a 120Hz dynamic refresh rate, up to 12GB of RAM, and up to 256GB of onboard storage. It is powered by a 6,000mAh battery and features two rear cameras, the primary one being a 50-megapixel sensor.
